Leg 11 of World Arc 2017
Joining in Cape Town on the 4th January, you will set sail with the World ARC fleet on the 6th for our Atlantic journey across to Brazil. SE trade winds mean fast downwind sailing. There can't be many people who have visited the small remote island of St Helena – there is no airport here so only the most intrepid travellers can get here. It is a great opportunity to break up the ocean passage and have some time exploring and enjoying the hospitality of the welcoming islanders.
It is then a further 1900nm tradewind sail onto Salvador in Brazil, where you can celebrate crossing the Atlantic.
This beautiful performance cruising yacht was built for world voyaging and is one of today’s most well-known and respected adventure/expedition charter yachts.
It specialises in taking individuals, couples and small groups to places usually only available on your own yacht - but with the benefit of an experienced skipper and crew and onboard an extremely well found vessel.
Owner-operated, since 2008 it has built a well-deserved reputation as a professional operation. Providing a relaxed, fun and friendly environment, it sees guests returning year after year for a mixed programme of classic racing, transatlantic trips and World Arc voyages.
Your hosts and co-skippers Dan and Em, have logged some hundreds of thousands of sea miles as cruising, ocean and racing skippers. Forming a perfect team, they work together to ensure that every detail of your holiday is taken care of. Whether racing, relaxing or adventure sailing, they strive to provide a fun, safe and memorable experience.
Designed, engineered and built to quality standards comparable with the finest yachts in the world, few performance cruising designs built today have the exceptional strength, classic styling and beautifully varnished woodwork that she offers.
A spacious deck layout, large safe cockpit area and wide side decks make for comfortable and safe cruising. The interior arrangement provides 3 separate cabins, all en suite; one double with private shower and heads; two twin cabins forward, sharing one shower and heads with private access. The spacious saloon provides 2 secure pilot berths and 2 saloon berths giving the possibility of sleeping 10 on board.
The vessel is fully coded by the MCA to Category 0, licensed for commercial operations anywhere in the world.
